Background & Challenge
Legacy deployments relied on manual SSH sequences, manual package builds on origin servers, and uncontrolled DNS configuration changes across disparate domain registrars. These manual steps resulted in deployment delays and occasional runtime disruptions during release windows.
Impact at a glance
| Metric | Result | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Release Velocity | +40% | Automated end-to-end testing, image building, and container restart. |
| Deployment Uptime | 99.9% | Centralized health checks, blue-green staging, and instant rollbacks. |
The Solution: Centralized Governance & Reusable Pipelines
To solve this, I designed a multi-environment delivery system:
- Standardized Reusable GitHub Workflows: Centralized workflow templates across GitHub Organizations with strict secret management through Passbolt and GitHub Secrets.
- Containerized Parity with Docker: Uniform application containers eliminating environment-specific variance between local dev containers, staging, and production hosts.
- DNS & CDN Modernization: Migrated legacy domains from GoDaddy/Hostinger to AWS Route 53 and Cloudflare, implementing automated SSL/TLS termination and edge DDoS protection.
PRODUCTION SAFEGUARD
Every deployment executes pre-flight vulnerability audits (container security) and automated health checks against Canary endpoints before shifting DNS routing.
